Economic analysis
Economic impact & significance
Analysis of the economic and community contribution of Schenectady’s parks and the Tupper Lake Memorial Civic Center.
My economic work examines the contribution of public facilities and what that means for decisions about their funding and use. At Saratoga Associates, I helped prepare the City of Schenectady Parks Economic Impact Report and the Tupper Lake Memorial Civic Center Community Impact Assessment. My responsibilities included analysis, report writing, and presenting the findings to public officials.
In Schenectady, we examined economic activity associated with park operations alongside recreation, health, environmental benefits, and property values. Considering these contributions together gives the city a fuller account of its parks than an operating budget alone can provide.
In Tupper Lake, we examined the civic center's community use and its potential as a year-round facility. I presented that assessment to the school district's Board of Education in November 2025. I have also presented the Schenectady work to municipal and professional audiences, including the New York Conference of Mayors.
